In cross-country mainly all injures involve the lower body. The most common cross-country injury is shin-splints. Shin-splints are a kind of stress fracture tha ses pain in the shin bone after and before a workout. Ankle and leg problems are the main injuries. When people break or sprain a bone in XC it is normally the ankle, and is normally caused by tripping (probably over a tree root). The most common injuries are stress fractures which you can look up for better detail. Stress fractures can occur when a person has not stretched properly, running far and fast, especially if your body is not used to it, and running on hard surfaces, like roads.
