If you buy an ion paintball marker what barrel and compressed air tank or CO2 tank and hopper should you get what do you need to buy to make your ion paintball gun ready to play?

Good question. Iv had an ion for 2 1/2 years and i love it. I think this is a great choice for a low budget. When you get an ion NEW it should come with a barrel already. But you can always upgrade.
I recommend you use compressed air, co2 could hurt your gun. A good reliable compressed air tank would be a 45 cubic inch 4500 psi air system by pure energy. This is what i use. It's not the cheapest but it is hard to find a cheap compressed air tank.
Now on the hopper, any electric hopper will work. DO NOT USE A GRAVITY FED HOPPER! Your ion will shoot faster then the hopper will feed.
If you wanna take your game to the next level here are some upgrades i own/recommend:

dude if you have the new dye rotor, why the hell do you have an ion? go buy a used dm8 or something.
if you have not purchased the ion already i suggest staying away from the basic ion do to its poor design on the part of SP. now the Ion XE on the other hand does a much better job since it has a BOB feature but is a lot more expensive, on the cheaper side there is the vibe which is essentially a ion xe without eyes and there is the blackheart vibe which is eventually a ion xe with a blackheart board and eyes for much cheaper than the xe

On a paintball gun C02, or High pressure air is necessary. It is compressed air that, when the trigger is pulled and the marker fires, propels the paintball out of the barrel.

How do you use a paintball gun?
Depending on what kind of paintball gun you get, certain aspects can vary. For all paintball guns or markers, a hopper and gas system (CO2 or Nitro) is attached, and the marker is either turned on or safety switched off and fired by pulling the trigger. The air source is usually placed against one's shoulder and chest and the barrel is aligned with one's nose. Always keep a barrel sock or plug on your barrel when the marker is not in use. You fill the hopper with paintballs, screw on the tank, flip off the safety, aim down sight, and then squeeze trigger!

No. You need an offset rail or the sight will be blocked by the hopper.

No compressed air would be better for accuracy as well as your gun. Its like co2 but at a higher pressure with cleaner air and no liquid that can damage your paintball marker.

the lightest weight markers that are not pistols or something specialty are just under 2lbs without the tank hopper and barrel, beyond that you can create a marker that is as heavy as you want by bolting as much cosmetic things on it as you want.
Will the dangerous power g3 paintball marker accept compressed air?
Yes! in fact, it will not work on CO2 at all.
Can you ship paintball guns internationally?
Yes you can, but be careful that the marker is not gased up and some stuff is taken apart (barrel off and in case) Make sure to mark the package as a paintball marker, NOT a gun
