Simply you get two shots per hole, so a double bogey effectively becomes your par.

Whatever your gross score is, you take away 36 and that is your nett score.

How do you calculate modified system 36 point?

System 36 (For Open Amateur Competition when handicap is not available) During the game player carries no handicap. - For a par or better, the golfer will gets 2 points, - for a bogey will gets 1 point - No point for double bogey or worst. System 36 normally followed by either stroke play or stable ford with the 'handicap' obtained after the game using System 36 method. Example: If a golfer bogeys all the hole, his total point is 18 , so 36-18 = 18 his handicap is 18; if a golfer pars all the hole, his total is 36 thus 36-36 = 0....his handicap is 0

If you have a handicap of 36 and your scored 30 over would your handicap get cut?

You must be a lady golfer, as the maximum handicap for men is 28. But, it all depends on the competition scratch score. If the c.s.s was equal to par, your exact handicap would get cut by 6x0.4 = 2.4. So if you played off 36.0 you would get cut to 33.6 (34).

What score do you need to get a 28 handicap?

For a man 28 is the highest handicap you can have, so anything over 28 over par will give you a 28 handicap. Say CSS = PAR every week, you will need to consistently shoot 27 over par to get cut to 27.

In golf can you consider a handicap score of 16 respectable?

A handicap of 16 is respectable if you aren't planning on trying out for the PGA. A 16 handicap says your average score is 16 shots over par for that course.

Will someone explain the point quota scoring system for golf?

Subtract your handicap from 36. This becomes the "quota" that you must meet. You get 8 points for an eagle, 4 points for a birdie, 2 points for a par, 1 point for a bogie. These are gross scores on each hole. The goal is to get more points than your quota. The person with the MOST points OVER their quota wins.Example; You are a 16 handicap. 36 minus 16 is 20. 20 is your quota. If you get 6 pars times 2 and 9 bogies times 1, you have 12 + 9 = 21 points. You beat your quota by +1.The formula "36 minus handicap" is OK if all the participants' handicaps are for a course rating of 72. If contestants are playing different tees with different course ratings a better formula would be "36 minus handicap plus 72 minus course rating for tees played and where handicap was established." Example: Player A has a 0 handicap from the front tees, CR 66. Player B has a 0 handicap from the back tees, CR 72. With the conventional formula they would both have a quota of 36 points, but if both shot their handicap A would get +6 points and B would get 0. With the better formula both would get 0 points.
