What was mary seacole famous of?

Mary Seacole was not a nurse. She did not have a boarding house for wounded soldiers. She was an entrepreneur and she went to the Crimea to provide what amounted to a cafe, mainly for officers, because they were the people who could afford it. She also provided some natural medications to all soldiers with cholera, dysentery and other ailments. However, she was too kindhearted and provided a lot of stuff free to those who couldn't afford it, including too much credit to too many officers for their 'bar bills'. Went she went to England after the war, penniless, she appealed for help, and many of those officers who had benefited from her generosity rallied round and contributed to a fund for her. Some out of embarrassment for unpaid bills, no doubt. She was clearly a very nice and kind person. But she was not a saint, nor even a great icon - certainly not in the way, unfortunately, she has recently been portrayed for dubious political and educational reasons.
