The Olympics themselves don't give cash prices, and it's up to each individual country how much (or even IF) they want to give their medalists anything. In the case of the US, the USOC gives $25,000 to gold medal winners. (This is not much, considering that for many sports, training is itself a time commitment considerably in excess of a full-time job and that the training itself can be quite expensive.)

Corporate sponsorship and/or endorsement deals can be lucrative for top athletes in "popular" sports, but many sports are just not that visible; you're not terribly likely to see an Archery winner on a box of Wheaties.

What was the anthem played at the 1952 Olympics when yvette Williams won her gold medal?

I found a New Zealand website that mentioned "God Defend New Zealand" was first played at an international event at the 1972 Summer Olympics in Munich for the coxed eights gold medal winners from New Zealand. That would make me think that "God Save the Queen" was played for Yvette Williams. Click on the "TKI" link below to access this website that has audios of some of New Zealand gold medal winners.

How much money do the winners in the Olympics get?

The medal winners do not officially get a monetary reward from the Olympic committees. The award depends on the country's Olympic committee and the country's generosity. For example, one country may award a gold medalist with $10,000 whereas another country may award a gold medal with $50,000. Most athletes make their money through endorsement deals and sponsors.

Why are the medals in Olympics gold silver bronze?

Gold, silver, and bronze are the different color medals in the Olympics. The gold is the best and only the best in the Olympics can win it. Silver is the second place medal and that is still great. The bronze is the third place medal and that is still very good. If you win any medal or even make it to the Olympics, you are probably the best in the world.
