Since the divisional playoff system began in 1969, the San Francisco Giants have appeared in the postseason 11 times -- in 1971, 1987, 1989, 1997, 2000, 2002, 2003, 2010, 2012, 2014 and 2016. They won world championships in 2010, 2012 and 2014.

Before 1969, the Giants won the 1962 National League pennant in a three-game playoff with the Los Angeles Dodgers. They advanced to the World Series, but lost to the New York Yankees in seven games.
