No, some athletes are ruining the true spirit of sport but there are still millions who have the right mindset and continue to represent sport in a true way :) hope this helps :)
How long do athletes train for on average?
That depends on the sport and the desired goal. When I played football, practice was 2 hours a day. As a boxer, for the 3-4 weeks before a fight, training can be a full time job. It still depends on a lot of things, such as, the training of the opponent, and even the altitude at which the fight will take place.
