Six players must be on the court at a time.
Volleyball is a game played between two teams on a court divided in half by a net. Each team has 6 players on each side at a time. Substitutions can be made during the game. The point of the game is to have the volleyball never touch the floor on your side of the court and to get the ball over the net to go inside of the opponent's side of the court.
A setter, middle hitter, outside hitter, left back, right back, and middle back.
A highschool volleyball team needs 6 players on the court at all times.
6 players are needed on the court at all times. So, you need six players at least. If one of those players gets injured, they need to stand on the court or else you automatically loose the game.

It all depends if the coach calls the team off the court or not. But yes you can leave the court and go to your teams sidelines. But you can also stay on the court and huddle with your team and talk about how you can improve your skills during the game who's setting up who where everybody should be ..ect.
