the only time you are usually paid to play paintball is if you win a tournament
72,000
they started in 1973

No because they are not getting paid
Too many
Its their job and they are getting paid
Sadly there are very few players who can make a living off of just playing paintball. Most are not even paid at all for playing, they just receive free gear. One of the only players who is actually paid to play is Ollie Lang, who received a $50,000 signing bonus.
Nothing, unless you have a pension.
They get paid for one very simple reason. They're good at it. They train hard, Also have you considered how many people watch them play? Also to help prove my point why do baseball players, football players, rugby, cricket ,and softball players get paid? Therefore if you don't like soccer, but like some other sport ask yourself, why are they getting paid in that sport. Furthermore, why do people who work get paid? For the same reason as soccer players, to achieve a good standard of living.
It is very difficult to become a sponsored paintball player. However if you get a job as a refferee at your local field, you can usually get some ammount of paint for free, discounts on things sold at the store, and they might let you play for free after your shift.
In comparison to American football players and soccer players they certainly are not over paid but for the top players its considered that they may be under paid
