Each hole and every course has its own predetermined par. Par is the standard number of strokes set for each hole or for the entire course. there are 4 par 3's, 10 par 4's and 4 par 5's

There are always 18 pars on an 18 hole Golf course. Par is considered to be the score an expert should require to finish a particular hole. now, perhaps the above (4 par 3's, 10 par 4's and 4 par 5's) is true on a "standard" or regulation (par 72) course. But there are also courses that are par 69, 70, 71, 73 and so on. These will obviously not follow the standard breakdown. Then also consider "executive" courses, consisting of only par 3's and par 4's. These are often par 58 but again, these can vary as well.

What is par for the course in golf?

Every golf course has a par, I want to say it is a preset number of hits alotted for any given course. Example : We are on Hole 4 and the par is 3 I sink the ball in 3 hits. That is par.The idiom "par for the course" means whatever is expected or normal for that situation. You often hear this said sarcastically, as when someone messes something up, you could say "Well, that's par for the course."It means "something normal or expected".On a golf links, "par" is the usual number of strokes needed for the hole or the course in expert play. If something is "par for the course," it means "as difficult, complicated or problematic as may normally be expected under the circumstances." In everyday usage, the phrase is often a comment on some outcome. It can have a positive or negative connotation, but more often than not, the connotation is a little cynical or condescending. for example: John: The company CEO is trying for the third time to make that antiquated system work... Joe, rolling his eyes: "...par for the course..." [In other words, that's about what we would expect from him, isn't it?]

How do you keep score in disc golf?

The players, the person who is marking your card keeps your score, but you must keep it also so you can correctly sign your card at the end of the round. Signing for an incorrect lower score results in disqualification, signing for an incorrect higher score means you have to accept that score. It should be noted, the players are only responsible for keeping the scores for each hole, not adding up at the end.
