The 2018 Winter Olympics were held in Pyeongchang, South Korea, from February 9 to February 25. A total of 102 events across 15 sports were contested during the games. Athletes from 92 nations participated, making it one of the most inclusive Winter Olympics to date. Norway topped the medal table with 39 medals, including 14 golds.
The Republic of Macedonia, playing under the name FYR Macedonia because of an idiotic objection by Greece, first participated in the Summer Olympics in 1996, and first participated in Winter Olympics in 1998. To date (January 2009), the country has won one bronze medal.
