hopefully as many as he started with
A musher can have a maximum of 15 dogs to start the Iditarod race. He must have a least 5 dogs in the harness at the end to officially finish. Dogs can be dropped for many reason such as injury, illness, and attitude issue.
A contestant in the Iditarod usually has 12-16 dogs on their sled team at the beginning of the race. If less than 6 dogs are pulling the sled when they cross the finish line, the team will be disqualified.
There are a number of behaviors that could disqualify a musher from the Iditarod race. Two of the most common are animal neglect or cruelty or sabotage of other teams or mushers. Dogs are also checked for illegal drugs.
in the iditarod you can have a maximum of sixteen dogs and a minamum of twelve dogs!!! most mushers will end up with anywhere from eight to twelve dogs in the end!!!! this is because many mushers will lose dogs when they run away on the trail and because some mushers will leave there dogs at the check point if they are hurt or if they are overly tired. people at the check point will then take care of the dogs at the check point. in the end of the race they are reunited when theyre musher crosss the finish line!!! the iditarod face is a very stressful race but can also be very exciteing and is something thet all great mushers want to do. they may also enter in the Yukon quest race. so wwwwoooooowwwww.................maybe you should try the iditarod.............it could be fun!!! couldn't you just imagine a little two year old mushing a dogsled!!!!!!!!!!ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha wouldn't that be funny!!!!!!!!!!!yyyyyyyyyeeeeeeeehhhhhhhaaaaaaa!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Well, it depends on the musher himself (or herself). If he or she is really interested in mushing, he will most probably will not be mean to his dogs. If he is completely not interested, he will likely reject the dogs in the end.
The musher will perform health checks on each dog at each rest stop - generally in the morning, at a lunch break (if taken) and at the end of the day. Each dog will be checked for overall attitude, movement and the paws and legs carefully checked for signs of abrasions, cuts, swelling or pain. The fit of the harnesses will also be checked daily before starting to ensure it is not causing pain or pressure points. The musher will also provide food, water and appropriate shelter as needed during the race. If a dog appears to be flagging or having difficulties, a responsible musher will pull out of the race to care for the dog. At the designated veterinary checkpoints along the way, the race veterinarian can also pull dogs out of the competition for health reasons.

the minimum # of dogs in a sled race in Alaska is 12.....12 dog is also the least amount of dogs u can have at the begining. and 16 is the most u can have at the start of the race.
A Widow's Lamp is part of the ritual for the Iditarod dog sled race. It is lit and hung on the Burled Arch and stays lit until the end of race, when the last dog sled musher extinguishes it after crossing the finish line.

No idea, but it's not many; the only reason the checkered flag wouldn't be displayed at the end of the race is if the race was red-flagged after it was an official race and the promoters didn't think they could get the race completed by the end of the day.
Many believe that at some point the human race might end or slowly die out. This might be caused by war, famine, or even disease.
