Each league (little league, high school, college) has its own limits as far as how many players can be on a team. In Major League Baseball, there are 25 players on a team.
As of 2011, about 38 percent of the Major League Baseball players had played in college. Within the past 10 years, approximately 56 percent of the picks in the first round in the MLB draft are college players. Only about 10 percent of male college baseball players will get drafted.

The NBA Development League (NBDL) is a league in which poorly playing players or undrafted college players go to prove that they should play in the NBA. If the players are good enough, they may be called up by an NBA team.
