It is real, but it is choreographed and scripted but everthing is done real, its called sports entertainment for a reason. People probablu find it way more entertaining than a real wrestling match. Yeah, sport's entertainment is complete different from high school / college wrestling. It would bore WWE fans to death to watch a "real" wrestling match.
In the SEMI final of the middleweight division two men wrestled for over 11 hours until one of them managed to pin his opponent but the winner was so tired that he could not wrestle in the FINAL and thus had to forfeit his chance at gold. This was the longest wrestling match in Olympic history.

I could not find such a precise piece of information. Soundskind of hard. Here is why: The first recorded Olympic wrestling match occurred in the Olympics in 708 BC. Wrestling was highly valued as a form of military exercise without weapons. Good luck to you!
A no disqualification match.
There really isn't any "equipment" required but a nice pair of wrestling shoes will be useful and wrestling singlets are used in a match (your school should provide the singlets for you though). Other then that, there's nothing else as far as I know.
A wrestling duel is actually the match that is going on.
In high school and college wrestling you can score points by taking an opponent down, exposing their back from 3-5 seconds, escaping from the bottom position, and reversing an opponent from the bottom position. A match is won by either having more points when time expires, gaining a 15 point lead on an ooponent (technical fall), or by getting an opponent's shoulderblades flush to the mat for a solid second (pin). There are no tapouts or submissions allowed in wrestling but competing in high school and or college wrestling will greatly help your mma skills due to great similarities in the sports.
Professional wrestling is an enacted game where the winners and losers are decided even before the match starts. The wrestlers cooperate and help their opponent execute some moves on them. It is more of a drama Olympic wrestling is a sport where the aim is not to beat up your opponent but to put him on the mat and wrestle him to victory.
Every wrestling match is fixed (scripted) but sometimes wrestlers decide to shoot (fight legitimately).
