In professional games, you don't have to sit out at all. In American high school games you must sub out when you receive the card, but your coach can sub you back in as soon as the next legal substitution opportunity. There is no official time limit.

Well it depends on how bad the foul is. If you get a ban or fine he could be up to3-5 games but normally for a red card it is a 1 game ban

If a player gets a red card during the game, they have to leave the game immediately and the team cannot replace him. They have to play with one less player.

Red card suspension?

You can get a red card by getting 2 yellow cards in a game. If you get a 2nd yellow yard that equals a red card that means you have to sit out for the rest of the game oyu receive the card and the next game you are playing. If you get a red card its the same sit out for rest of the game and next game. Hope this helps

What doses it mean referees give this for serious fouls and the player must leave the game of soccer?

A referee will issue a 'Red Card' for a serious offence in football, or if the player has already been shown a yellow card for a previous foul in the game. Two yellow are automatically red carded. A red card results in the player leaving the pitch, and no substitution is allowed. So the team plays on with one man down. There have been cases when an over excited manager, arguing with the referee, has been shown a red card, and has been sent to sit in the terraces, away from the dugout.

In volleyball how many fouls before the player has to sit out?

Volleyball players do not get "fouls" because it is a non-contact sport; however, if a volleyball player was to interfere with the other team, become mouthy etc. they would receive either a yellow card or a red card with possible dismissal from the match.

What is the difference between a red an yellow card in soccer?

A Yellow card is a sin-bin offense where the player is sent to the touchline for a period of ten minutes normally. The red card is immediate sending off. The player leaves the field of play and must not stand on the touch line. There is no return to play for this person and following a red card offense this usually means a time ban period for the player concerned where they will not be allowed to play. The first shown yellow card means that the player will get 10 minutes in the "sin bin" off the field of play. The second time a yellow card is shown to the same player will force a red card to also be shown. The player must leave the field of play and may also be banned from playing in a number of matches based on the reason. For a dangerous type of play i.e. gouging, spear tackling, strainght arm tackling or stamping this is a red immediately and the player is sent off with a citing to be banned for a period of time.
