The surface gravity on Ganymede is 0.146 g, 14.6 % of the Earths and similar (a little lower) than our moons gravity of 0.165g. there is also no air resistance to slow the ball down.

So if hit with the same force as on earth, a Golf ball on Ganymede could probably reach 2-3 miles before landing, spending more than a minute in the air.

Which would be a better colony Mars or Ganymede?

Although it would depend on your objective, Mars would generally be more suitable. Ganymede has far less gravity, far more ambient radiation (almost 8 rems a day), and is far colder.

How far is the sun from the earth if the sun was scaled down to a golf ball?

In the scale in which the sun is the size of a regulation golf ball, Earth is the size of one medium grain of sand, and the distance between them is about 458 centimeters.

How far is ganymede away from the sun in astronomical unit?

Ganymede, the largest moon of Jupiter, is approximately 5.2 astronomical units (AU) away from the Sun on average. However, its distance can vary due to its elliptical orbit around Jupiter.

Does the bounce of the ball effect the distance it can be hit?

Yes, it does. Although it does depend on what material the ball is made of, for the most part, yes. If you rolled a 5 pound ball made of rubber, with a circumference of 6 inches, it would go less far on a flat plane than a 5 pound rubber ball with 12 inches of circumference.:)*correct me if I'm wrong guys*Visit my website at www.freewebs.com/thebladeoffate

How does the air pressure of a soccer ball effect how far it travels when kicked?

Possible effects of temperature on soccer ball. 1. Raising temperature will increase the pressure within the ball making the ball more rigid. This ball should rebound off of the foot more readily. [With a higher speed!] 2. Raising air temperature will tend to dry out the air. Dry air would tend to generate less air friction. 3. Increasing air temperature would increase the volume of the air within the ball. If the ball has a greater volume it will have to push more air out of the way, thus increasing the frictional force acting on the ball. 4. If the volume of the ball increases, its buoyancy would also increase giving the ball more "lift".

How far does a golf ball roll in one rotation?

Let's assume that your golf ball is 1.680 inches in diameter - the smallest size golf ball allowed in certain golfing associations. Then we know that the circumference of the golf ball will be the distance it would roll in one complete rotation. Circumference = pi * diameter Circumference = 3.14 * 1.680 in Circumference = 5.2752 inches = the distance that this particular golf ball would roll
