it all depends on what level and who you are competing against.
High school:
Girls: range from 25(ok) to 35(beast) but some can even through farther!!
Boys: range from 35(ok) to 55(killing it!)
in College:
A good throw for a girl would be around 40ft, and for boys 55ft...(but boys shot gets heavier!)

World record is 23.12 meters or about 75 feet 10 inches (iaaf.org)
both are with a 16lb (~7kg shot)

In 7th grade boys i would say 35 is pretty beastly but i saw a 12 year old in 7th grader thats only 5'3 and about 115 pounds that masterd full spin and had a PR of 42.1
