Each confederation cup is held exactly a year before a world cup.

(eg South Africa 2009, Brazil 2013)

There are eight spots in the cup.

Example: The confederations cup 2009

Pos 1 - The host of the next Fifa world cup (South Africa in 2010)

Pos 2 - The winner of the last world cup (Italy in 2006)

Pos 3 - The winner of the last Euro championship (Spain in 2008)

Pos 4 - The winner of the last Asian cup (Iraq in 2009)

Pos 5 - The winner of the last African cup (Egypt in 2006)

Pos 6 - The winner of the last Oceania cup (N Zealand in 2008)

Pos 7 - The winner of the last N/C American cup (USA in )

Pos 8 - The winner of the last South America cup (Brazil in

If a country two of these spots eg if Spain won the world cup AND the euro.

The country that came second in the world cup would enter.

If this country was Another Country who had already entered.

It would go to third place in the world cup.

All the national teams that won their respected continental cup right before the world cup are eligible to take part in this tournament. This means that the African team that won the African cup of nations will be present, so will the national team that won the north American cup; the national team that won the south American cup; the national team that won the Asian cup; the national team that won European cup and the national team that won the oceanic cup will be present for this tournament.
