Racism effects sport as people in the same team or on the opposing team don't play to the best of their ability. They feel discriminated and left out. It may also influence children and teenagers to use racist comments because they are trying to blend in with there mates which will think he is cool being racist.

∙ 13y agoSexism is not a major problem in sport. Very few leagues feature both sexes in the same competition; those that do are socially-oriented and not prone to the common problems of serious contest.
Male sport tends to be watched more often, usually receiving more media and spectatiir attention, with the money that accompanies this. However, this is not a bias per se in favour of men; it is more a direct result of the fact that in general, men are more athletic and physically capable than women, and male sport is by its own nature much more active and varied. This is not to say women's sport is never interesting or that it lacks variation, but simply that in corresponding areas, men are - for lack of a better word - more extreme in what they do.
Outside of the actual sport itself, many teams and clubs operate under the auspices of companies, corporates and owners whose primary motive for involvement is business, not sport. Like all business, it does involve positions where a choice, implicit or explicit, between men and women can arise, and as with all such choices, some personal or systemic bias will occur. This invariably leads to one sex being perferred over the other in certain areas and positions, i.e. that sexism exists, that discrimination based on sex happens.
However, it should be noted that this typically affects only the immediately-interested parties; if it happens within a noted group, sport or club/team, it will generate more media attention and perhaps public query of the league, of the organisation or the sport as a whole follows. In the modern world, when such unfairness based on an arbitrary property is showcased, the vast majority are quick to deride the bias in solidarity, all recognising that - even should one's personal views agree with the bias, and it is not often that this is the case - such events are to the detriment of everyone's reputation.
Thus, sexism is while not a major problem in the world of sports as a whole, it is certainly not nonexistent in every part of it. Where it happens, the fact is usually a relatively isolated one, and everyone is fast in standing against it. As with everything in the real world, it does sometimes happen; but then, nothing is perfect, and some degree of it should be anticipated and easily dealt with as an issue.
