Follow these steps:

  1. Place all 15 red balls inside the triangle, then place the triangle between the pink spot and the black spot.
  2. Place the black ball on the black spot, underneath the red ball triangle.
  3. Place the pink ball on the pink spot, above the red ball triangle.
  4. Place the blue ball on the blue spot, in line with the middle pockets in the centre of the table.
  5. Place the brown ball on the brown spot, in the centre of the baulk line.
  6. Place the green and the yellow balls either side of the brown ball; if you are looking down the table towards the reds, the green ball should be placed to the left-hand side of the brown and the yellow ball to the right-hand side. These are in opposite corners of the 'D'.
  7. Finally, the white ball is placed anywhere inside the 'D' for open break shot.

The set up depends upon the game to be played.

For 8 Ball, the 8 must be in the center and under APA Rules there are no other requirements - under BCA Rules, the back two corners must be 1 stripe and 1 solid - either way it is customary to place the 1 at the front, but not a rule to do so.

For Straight Pool the 5 and the 1 must be at the rear left and right corners, and there is no other requirement.

what you have to do is get bits of wood and bang it together!!

Ans.2: You can't make a full-size, perfectly flat snooker table - only the specialist factories can do that, but you could try to make a quarter-size (6x3 feet) one. Even this would be very difficult to produce a straight-running surface and cushions with an even bounce.

Why does pool table felt shed fibers?

Friction. The movement of the rolling pool balls does no damage to the pool felt. However, the pool balls accumulate pool chalk that is very abrasive. The pool chalk accumulated on the balls and dropping on to the felt both result in tearing of the felt fibers as balls are struck or slide on the table. Occasionally balls bounce or are jumped on the table, resulting in even more damage. Damaged felt is a part of playing pool.
