I don't think that you could combo the two.. but if you are looking to get into either dance I would recommend a local dance studio for classes.
If you do tap, tap shoes. If you do ballet, ballet flats.
You can tap in a tap shoe, you can do jazz in your jazz shoe, and you can do character, classical, or muscial or play ballet. You can even do pointe in ballet. In jazz shoes you can also do lyrical!
Ballet
it depends what style of dance you do, i do ballet, tap and street. for ballet i wear a leotard tights and ballet shoes for tap i wear a cat suit with tap shoes and for street i wear like baggy traksuit bottoms and vest top with trainers
tap dance is made up of ballet. every dance whether its hip hop or jazz your have 2 have a ballet training.
dancing..
Ballet?
Yes. Unlike ballet, tap does not require much balance.
Ballet is so pretty i would know i do jazz hiphop and tap and ballet!! its fun and i can teach anyone skill and grace!!
Absolutely, positively Ballet. It is the core of all forms of dance.
no it cant --- Yes it can, the positions are very different and can harm technique. ----- Not particularly. I am on a tap and jazz competitive team and it is mandatory that I take ballet and everyone on the team takes ballet. Ballet is where most dance technique come from. But, if you are doing a toe stand, or toe knocks or wings or anything along those lines in tap, and and you turn your feet in, yes, you will definitely ruin that ballet technique. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- No! I do both and I am improving in both especially ballet not going bakwards. I find it silly to think that because although in the Royal Ballet School they say so how could I be improving and my dance teacher be praising me more if tap dancing ruins Ballet technique!
Ballet, Tap, and Jazz.
