To be a good captain you need to be able to lead your team whether you win or lose and be that extra support for them when they are not having a good game or, praise their efforts when they ARE having a good game. You need to give them that extra push in training sessions and be the voice on court when your team needs it. The coach chooses a specific person for the captaincy role for a reason; they have shown leadership in other areas and supports the team in all situations. A good captain also organises the team in the coaches absence (Or if they're late) and may diffuse tension between other players as the captain can see things from the "players" point of view.

What are the roles of a capitin in netball?

a netball captain usually calls the toss before a match to see whos centre it is. also if your coach isn't that good or has to referee, the captain needs to be able to warm up her team and do a couple of ball exercises. she needs to be confident because if your coach is refereeing she cannot call out hints, so the captain whilst in the game needs to call out what to. handy things to shout are-watch your passing, slow it down girls, good shooting, into the space, land the foot, switch and back. pep talks are always necessary for a good captain. there is no ideal osition for a captain but gk or gd are preferable because they are not always busy and have a good view of the aattacking.

What does the captian do in netball?

Well the captain in a netball team usuallly chooses what they want to do in the tosses like if they do heads or tails they'll ask "ok" "you won the toss what would you like to have"? "first centre or choose which end you want your shootor to shoot at"? Thats where your captain comes in and makes that decision and you also have to sign your signature on a board to show that you were the captain.
