The name of the content basketball before it was called basketball is Soccer ball
I have actually come across this question before, It started in America when a coach had to come up with a game for his pupils to play in the winter. So he pined a basket/bin to the wall and originally it had a bottom so each time you got a hoop you would actually have to climb up and remove the ball. Thing have come a long way since then
It can be used in anything that requires an object to go up, then come down due to gravity. So yes, it can be used for basketball games
Shut up. . poo
Naismith, in 1891 is started with a literal basket hung on a wall
