Side aches when exercising are very common and you can prevent them by doing a very thorough warm up and cool down before and after you workout. If you get a cramp when running lean in the direction of the ache and it sometimes goes away. Try not to eat or drink too much right before exercising but remember to drink plenty several hours before working out
