Yeah it used to host the british grand prix on alternate years with silverstone between the mid sixties till 1987. It also hosted the European grand prix a few times

Whether justified, of course, is a matter of one's point of view, but Silverstone has hosted the British F1 Grand Prix more times than any other venue, and was the venue for the very first official F1 World Championship grand Prix in 1950. Other venues have been Brands Hatch and Aintree and the "European Grand Prix" has been held at Donington Park.

AintreeNot quite true.... Donington Park hosted the EuropeanGrand Prix in 1993... never the BGP. Aintree hosted the British Grand Prix in the late '50's and early 60's and Brands is legendary
