No Baseball has officialy been hit out of New Busch Stadium which opened in 2006. At least not during a regular Major League Game. Here is al little bit of history. Back in 1986 a player by the name of Mike Laga hit the only baseball ever to be hit out of Old Busch Stadium (1966-2005). Although it was a foul ball it actually left the stadium and landed in a flower bed just outside the first base side of the stadium. The Cardinals were playing the Mets that night and the fans gave Laga ( much to his embarresment) a standing ovation. How is that for a baseball town.
