Twenty20 and ODI's are the most popular and newest inventions to the cricketing world, but which is better?
Twenty20 is more popular for cricket fans who go to a match to enjoy big hits, a short match and stunning catches. ODI's are for the die-hard fans who like to see players biuld an innings but also smack the bowlers over the boundary more.
Twenty20 cricket is a form of cricket devoted to fast bowlers and batsmen as against a spin bowler a batter can come out to it on the full and whack it out of the park. Fast bowlers prefer this type as they don't have to bowl as long and as batters are attempting to hit the ball for boundaries, the straight or slow ball can bamboozle them enough to cartwheel their stump out of its place.
ODI's are slightly longer and require a mid-morning or afternoon start compared to Twenty20's evening start. ODI's are a spinner's game as they can build their attack and can use an array of variations in their arsenal to take out stumps. Batsmen prefer to get off to a slow start but are determined to give the crowd a good show. About 30 years ago the average ODI score would be 150-170 runs but now a good score is anywhere above 280. (300 if playing Australia)
Twenty20 has branded its own World Cup last year and had two sub-continental teams surprisingly make the final instead of a much fancied Australian outfit. Stanford Twenty20 owner and founder of the Caribbean tournament believes that Twenty20 will take over the world as one of the most popular sports. Many are also fancying a Twenty20 Olympic performance.
Another benefit for ODI's though is the fact that kids can at least watch the first innings without the cintinuous pelt of drunkedness beer pouring over their head from the Mexican waves. Twenty20's as a shorter period of time taken up are like a party and beer is sold out well before the innings break.
It is impossible to therefore answer which is a better form of the game as Indians generally prefer the Twenty over form as it boasts the T20 tournaments ICL and IPL, while partygoers and people who don't care about the final result will prefer T20s because of the relaxed atmosphere but the real fan will watch a serious ODI as the excitement is built over a longer period of time for an agonising result and it is more prestigious where the crowd will actually give a damn about the result.
Fun or Victory, whichever you prefer will decide which is the better form of the game between T20 and ODI.
Football is far better and cleaner, cricket is full of match fixing.
