A goal-keeper defends their own teams goal not the opposition's !
GK stands for goal keeper. For goal keeper you can get the ball off the other team and shoot goals so your allowed in the semi circle but your not allowed in the other teams semi circle.
The GK is the Goal Keeper and is allowed in the Goal circle and Goal third. She defends against the opposing Goal Shooter. She must mark the Goal Shooter and try to intercept passes into the Goal Circle; She must recognise the need to Mark the GS away from the Goal Post and defend the shot at goal and position for a possible rebound under the post. She must take Backline Throw-in accurately. It is good for the GK to be tall, agile and must be good at intercepting and position herself tactfully in the goal circle to upset the shot encourage long shots into the Goal.
the goal shooter in netball is only allowed to stay in the end they're team is shooting and is not allowed to come in the middle third! the shooter can shoot in the goal and can defend the ball when they miss their goal.! they also have a defender which is called a GK and the GK is usually instructed to follow every move the GS makes!! so you have to try and trick them!
goal keeper A goal Keeper (GK) plays in the defencive third including the goal ring (semi circle)
GK stands for General Knowledge. Or, in soccer, it means 'goal keeper.'
The 7 positions on the netball court are:GS: Goal Shooter - the main shooter only allowed in their shooting end the end third and the ring. plays against opposing teams GK. (aim is to shoot)GA: Goal Attack - another shooter allowed in the centre third and the end third where their ring is, allowed in the ring, most important position plays against opposing teams GD (aim is to help GS and shoot)WA: Wing attack - allowed in the centre third and their attacking end third not allowed in ring plays against opposing teams WD (aim is to help GS and GA (pass the ball to them) )C: Centre - allowed everywhere but the rings plays against opposing teams C (aim is to pass between defense and attack)WD: Wing Defense - allowed in the centre third and their defending end third not allowed in ring plays (against opposing teams WA)GD: Goal Defense - allowed in centre third and their defending end third allowed in the ring plays (against opposing teams GA)GK: Goal Keeper - allowed in only their defending end third and in the ring plays (against opposing teams GS)
GK or goal keeper can go in their defensive third only, including the goal circle. they have to start the centre pass in the goal circle and should take majority of sidline/baseline passes in that third. if they go over the third line it is called offside. i hope that helped :)
gs - goal shooter gk - goal keeper
first of all the 'pitch' is called a court both teams have a; goalkeep(gk) at each end, a goal defence(gd) on the side, a wing defence(wd) on the wing in the midcourt, a centre(c) which is in the middle of the court,a wing attack(WA) on the other wing in the midcourt, a goal attack(ga) on the side and a goal shoot(gs) in the oppiste semicircle to their goalkeep. gk GS (capitals are the opposite team) gd GA wd WA C c WA WD ga GD gs GK
When you mean 'D', I am assuming that you mean the semi-circle in your teams goal. If you are the only positions in netball allowed in the semi-circle are Goal Shooter (GA), Goal Attack (GA), Goal Keeper (GK), and Goal Defence (GD). Keep in mind that the GS and GA are only allowed in their goal semi-circle and the GK and GD are only allowed in the opposition goal semi-circle. Hope this helped :) Vicky
The GK, GD, GS and GA (Goal Keeper, Goal defense, Goal shooter and Goal attack.)
Only Goal Attack and Goal Shooter CAN score a goal. So Wing Attack, Goal Keeper, Wing Defence, Centre, Goal Defence CAN'T score a goal.
