Yes, a batter should watch the ball making contact with the bat. The batter should have his head turned toward the pitcher in a very comfortable position, as if he or she were watching TV. When near the point of contact, the batter should turn his head back a little and try to watch the bat hit the ball. If the batter does not turn his head, he will be looking at the ball out of the corner of his eye. I don't know of any person on this planet who can see something better out of the corner of their eyes. Hitting is tough and you must get a good look at the ball to have any chance at being successful.

Does a hit and run count an at bat?

No, a hit and run does not count as an official at-bat for the player who is at the plate if the batter does not make contact with the ball. If the batter swings and misses or if the ball is not put in play, it is typically considered a strike, and the at-bat is recorded. However, if the batter makes contact and the ball is put into play, it counts as an at-bat regardless of the outcome of the play.

Is chopping allowed in baseball?

If you are talking about the batter chopping the ball, yes. Any kind of contact to the ball with that bat is allowed. Even if the batter isn't trying to swing, but makes contact with the bat and it goes into fair territory, it is a fair ball and he must run.

What happens to a ball when a girl hits it with a bat?

When a girl hits a ball with a bat, the bat transfers kinetic energy to the ball, causing it to accelerate and move in the direction of the hit. The impact also creates a force that can cause the ball to spin, depending on how the bat makes contact. The speed and distance the ball travels will depend on factors like the force of the swing, the angle of impact, and the type of ball being used. As a result, the ball typically flies away from the point of contact at a high speed.

What type of energy is transfered as a bat hits a ball?

You transfer energy[chemical] from your body to the bat[kinetic] to attack the ball. No energy is lost, but some heat is. It is the same as the Law of Conservation of matter. Hope this helps! =D

Is it a strike if ball hits the bat but the batter is not swinging?

Yes, whether the batter attempted to contact the ball or not, if the ball strikes the bat and is fouled off, it is a strike, unless there are already two strikes, of course. If, on the other hand, the ball strikes the bat and goes into fair territory, the ball is in play, and the runner can attempt to reach first.

What is the average speed of a baseball when bunted?

Generally, the bat is placed to meet the ball and little or no energy is added at point of contact by the bat, so the speed would depend mostly on the speed of the pitch, and the angle the ball comes off the bat.

How do you bock the ball?

I think it has something to do with the earlier term of Bunting, usually a sacrifice fly but sometimes batters can Bunt on a base hit. The Bat is held at angle to make contact with a ball in a certain way,. it is not the usual type of Power Hitting associated with say, Kaline, Mays, etc.

Why is a baseball bat a lever?

a baseball bat is a "lever" in the way that the ball comes off the bat. When the baseball makes contact with the bat, the bat gives, or bends. What causes the ball to then travel is when the bat snaps back into a straight object. Thus, the bat is, in a way, a lever.
