Not if you enjoy it. Gymnastics is a great sport. There is no reason to stop. Even if your physical development is causing problems, you can change events or move into cheerleading.

There isn't really an answer to that question because really you can stop when ever you want. Most people stop at 20.

Gymnastics stops your growth and a females period and so does cheerleading
no they dont so stop asking questions
Yes, adults can perform gymnastics. However, the adult body tends to have less flexibility and agility than an adolescent body, particularly if the adult was not flexible or agile as a youth. You can still perform gymnastics and learn the movements, but you probably won't qualify for the Olympics.
Nadia Comăneci retired from competition in 1981. Her official retirement ceremony took place in Bucharest in 1984.
Some people think it does, but it all depends on your age and how fast your developing. Ask your doctor about how fast your growing and if they think it is slowing YOU down. Give gymnastics a try. I do it and love it. I am a level 7 and can do a double back flip. If you think it slows you down in puberty then its up to you to decied to stop. Gymastics is really fun. Once you get going you can't stop.
Yes definatley! I am 13 and I am like at an intermediate level in gymnastics. It is true it's harder when you're older, but if you really like it it shouldn't stop you. You should probably enroll in a beginning gymnastics class for older kids. Be prepared, you might see six or seven year olds at the gym that are better then you, but don't let it discourage you. You're never too old to try something new, especially something as fun as gymnastics. Good luck!
