Possibly. I have tapes of Super Bowls IX, XIII and XIV, and I'm pretty clear it didn't happen in any of those (or if it did, the announcers didn't notice it and didn't say anything about it). So it would have to have been Super Bowl X. But X is actually the logical one for it to have been. In Super Bowl X, Dallas received the opening kickoff, and ran a trick return (some kind of reverse, as I recall) that worked very well and forced the Steelers' kicker, Roy Gerela, to make the tackle. Gerela got injured making the tackle, and struggled with field goals the rest of the day (indeed, it was one of his misses which prompted Cliff Harris of the Cowboys to famously taunt him, inspiring Jack Lambert to famously throw Harris to the ground) So the point is, the Steelers had a hobbled kicker throughout Super Bowl X and it would entirely make sense that they would have scampered to find someone else to do kickoffs. So I suppose it could have been a lineman.
Hall of Fame tackle Rayfield Wright played in five Super Bowls for the Dallas Cowboys between 1971 and 1979. Among others who have played in four Super Bowls for one team: center Mick Tinglehoff and tackle Ron Yary of the 1970s Minnesota Vikings; tackle Jon Kolb and guard Gerry Mullins of the 1970s Pittsburgh Steelers; and guard Jim Ritcher and center Kent Hull of the 1990s Buffalo Bills.
The Steel Curtain was the nickname given to the Steelers front four defensive linemen during their Super Bowl dynasty of the 1970's. They won their Super Bowls in 1974, 1975, 1978 and 1979.
Robin Cole was a linebacker for two of the Steelers Super Bowl wins (XIII and XIV). He played 11 seasons from 1977-1987 for the Steelers.
The Steelers have won six of the eight Super Bowls they have been in.
