Frank Collins was drafted out of the University of Utah and played for 10-12 years between the NFL, USFL, and Canadian League from the mid 70's to the mid 80's. He twice spent a short time with the Steelers. He was not a starter, but saw playing time time and/or was on practice squads, but made a good career out of playing football. He even scored a touchdown or two. He played for Cincinnati, Chicago, Pittsburgh, and Washington. It was prior to the internet, but I've found several newspaper articles in archives. He was a local star in Beaver Falls. I've met several former players (starters) who know him and played with/against him. He was apparently a short, but very tough and fast back. His nickname was "Frank the Tank".

He was a local football star in Beaver Falls, PA, and made a 10-12 year career out of playing football in the NFL, USFL and Canadian League. He was drafted out of he University of Utah. He played in Pittsburgh, Washington, Cincinnati, and the Chicago. He was not a starter and/or played on practice squads so not listed on the roster. His career was prior to the internet, but if you look at newspaper archives there are numerous articles about him and he did see playing time and scored some touchdowns in the NFL. I've talked to former starters from the Steelers who all seem to know him. Apparently he was a short, but very tough and fast back. His nickname was "Frank the Tank".

He was drafted out of University of Utah in the early to mid 70's, was in a car accident, then spent time in Pittsburgh, Washington, Chicago. He made a decent career playing football for 10-12 years between the NFL, USFL and Canadian League. He was never a starter thus due to his time being prior to the internet there is no internet record of him. You have to go to newspaper archives. He was a local football star from Beaver Falls. He spent much of his time on practice squads while in the NFL, but did see some playing time and I even found articles where he scored a couple touchdowns for the Steelers. I've met numerous players that played with him. He was known to be a very powerful and fast, but short, back.
