I would guess the all depends on where you go when you ask it. in India and the UK yes. but here in America and also Canada hockey would be more popular. Its for marketing reasons. Here we have Baseball so cricket seems like a sissified version and they can't profit also hockey is Canada's baby. Though in the UK cricket can franchise off of it and I guess India followed their lead.
