Yes you can make skis, but it would be hard. You need all sorts of materials, machinery and expertise to make quality skis. All the big ski companies have scientists and designers to develop skis. But if you want i'm sure it wouldn't be too hard to make a good old fashion pair of wood skis. The bindings could be tricky though.
In fact some ski companies just started with people like you who wanted to make skis. For example the company Line was started by Jason Levinthal in 1995. He made his first skis in his own garage.
Snow + Ancient Footware = Skis
yes da vinci did make water skis
Sears did sell water skis but did not make them. Most were JC Higggins brand skis.
Yes, you can just make sure they have the same width and specifications as your old ones.
Skiers use flat skis to to help them go fast they make a pizza by digging the side of their skis
You can't get skis.
"Les skis."
yes there are different skis for men and women the difference is the radius
Because if skis were short and round, they would be called "bicycles".
I recommend you don't try that. It's a difficult process, and it's an industrial product. But of course you can do the old wooden skis way, but then again. That won't go fast ;)
It depends on what your looking for, You can go to Streetlegalsleds.com and look at their idea where you replace the track and both skis with tires or are you asking to keep the track and skis?
Women's skis have the waist and binding farther forward compared to men's skis to compensate for women's lower centers of gravity and added weight in the rear. Because of lower weights and lower centers of gravity, women's skis also tend to be more flexible for proper turning. Women's skis are also more dramatically curvy than men's skis to make the ski turn better. On straight skis, man or woman, the rule is, "as tall as you or slightly shorter if you're a beginner, a foot taller if you're advanced or just really good." Longer skis can be dangerous, so you need to know what you're doing. On modern shaped or parabolic skis, beginner skis are around chin-height while advanced skiers may have skis up to their forehead or as tall as the skier. Shorter skis are good for beginners as they give more control and better turning. Longer skis get more speed.
