Ok, soo a good softball speed for 12-13 is 50 mph the really good pitchers throw around 55. When you turn 16-17 your goal should be 55 mph. Collage is high 60 to low 70. I think high school the really good pitchers will throw around the 60 mph.
there is no set speed because some pitchers pitch because of their accuracy and movement of the ball. however the average varsity pitcher will pitch about 53.
no way, way higher then 53, i no 10 yr olds who pitch 63. i'd say average for varsity is 60, average for JV is 55
I attended a College Baseball camp and talked to many of the players there. Most of them said that the speeds they see are high 80's (88,89) and every now and then they will see low 90's. Any questions email me at ajbingamano@gmail.com
the average speed is 85 miles per hour
^^^ Who ever posted that is incorrect. the average pitch speed of a VARSITY HS pitcher would be cruising 77-80, and topping out at 82 MPH. keep in mind, that those averages span all 4 years, as the average for just the varsity.
between 45-60mph depending on the age of the youngster. If you have a 12 year old that can throw between 60-70mph and has good placement on his pitches, you can almost guarantee by the time he is a freshman or sophomore in high school, he'll be throwing about 75-80 mph and college scouts will be at every game he pitches. He will also need to have a breaking ball and a change-up to work on by then.
My husband and I took my son to a street fair when he was 11 and head pitcher for his little league team. They had a machine there that tested his throwing speed and his speed was 51 mph. The guy said he was above average.
between 60-80 mph. our pitcher pitches a close 73 mph ball.

I would say between 50 and 65 mph

About 45 mph
Who is Mr Collins? Tiger Woods' ball speed is 170 mph, the average pitching speed in MLB is around 92 mph.
RADAR was first used to clock pitching speed in 1972. Earl Weaver was the first person to use the RADAR gun to determine speed in baseball.
it is different depending on where you live. southern states such as Florida have a higher average pitching speed than northern states such as vermont. however, the average pitching speed for most 12 yr olds tends to be from the mid-40s to the low-to-mid-50s. average is early 30's to late 40's for a girl who practices daily, but ive seen 10 yr olds throw up to 65 mph
42.4mph
35 mph would be about average.
The average speed at a school with a good program is about 65-70 MPH.
