I also don't know that it would be of issue, other than somebody who just wants to bellyache about the rules. It really kind of makes a mess and gets on everything, but I can't see that it would be of any real benefit or detriment to use it. If you want to try it, they make clear now that maybe won't get noticed as much and won't be so ugly when it gets on everything. it is fine i use it all the time just keep it away from where the ball hits the bat or could possibly hit
