However, flag football nationally is on the rise as is girls playing on boys high school teams with a 40% increase in participation (in flag and 11-player football) from 2002-2012 (according to the National Federation of State High School Associations) and NCAA women's sports participation in any sport is up 20% over that same period (according to the NCAA Sports Sponsorship and Participation Rates Report.) As far as I know there isn't an organization that tracks "pro" women's tackle football teams but as of 2012 there are about 120 teams nationally in 3 main leagues.
