There are eleven players on a soccer team - one goalkeeper, and ten outfield players. In most professional matches teams are allowed five substitutes in the squad, of which they can use three.

The number varies because of the variety of soccer being played. Usually there are 2 teams of 11 players on the field. A coach on each side would be nice. And substitutes. There will be 2, or usually 3 (or, in "pro" or international soccer) 4 officials.
