It depends on the league. The FIFA Laws of the Game simply say that the number of players is one of the rules that youth leagues can change at their discretion, so different leagues use different numbers of players.

It is usually set up with a 4 3 3 well at least that is what most high school junior varsity teams well set up. But than it differs with boys and varsity team they do a 4 2 2 so really u will either have 8 players on the field or 10

Strictly speaking, there should be 11 players, including the goalkeeper. However, because the Laws of the Game permit leagues and competitions to play small-sided for younger players, there are usually 8 players per team, including the goalkeeper, on the smaller fields.
