Chalking a baseball field is not that big a deal. You want to get as straight as you can with foul lines though. Usually a string tied to a nail from home plate to the OF fence will be a good guide for the chalk dropper. Here is a link to baseball field chalk dimensions if you wanna get really anal about it: http://www.baseball-almanac.com/stadium/baseball_field_construction.shtml
300 ft
Why someone would say 200 feet is beyond me-- little league fields are bigger than that. College fields are roughly the same as big league fields-- roughly 400 feet to center, 325 feet to the edges.
Columbia University plays baseball at Robertson Field in the Baker Athletic Complex located on the northern tip of Manhattan. This is a small stadium with seating mostly around the infield area. There are other small fields used by H.S. and Little League teams around Manhattan, but Robertson Field is about as big as it gets on Manhattan island.
Different parks have different lengths in different places in the park. Center field is always the deepest at about 400 feet. Left and right field are at about 315-375 feet.
The 2013 Little League World Series will begin as early as July 24 for Big League Baseball World Series, which is one of the nine to be hosted this year. The newly created Little League Intermediate 50/70 will have their inaugural tournament beginning on July 30.
There are two different kinds of softball, fast pitch and slow pitch. Rather than try to explain I will point you to a wonderful link that will explain all. http://www.sportsknowhow.com/softball/dimension/softball-fast-pitch-field-dimensions.html
