Evonne Goolagong Cawley was an Australian professional tennis player. She was the first female Aboriginal Australian to achieve prominence in a sport. Goolagong's tennis career includes 92 pro tournament victories. She won the Australian Open four times, Wimbledon twice, the French Open once, and she represented Australia seven times in the Federation Cup, winning in 1971, 1973 and 1974. In 1971, she was named the Associated Press Female Athlete of the Year.
