Actually there are "five" 4 time winners of the famed Iditarod Dogsled Race.
The only 5 time winner is Rick Swenson, 1977-1979-1981-1982-1991 it could have been 6 but Dick Mackey won a controversial victory in 1978.
The other 4 time winners are:
Susan Butcher 1986-1987-1988-1990.
Doug Swingley 1995-1999-2000-2001.
Martin Buser 1992-1994-1997-2002.
Jeff King 1993- 1996-1998-2006.

There is more than one person who has won the race four times, for "his" there is Lance Mackey, Jeff King, Martin Buser, and Doug Swingley. Rick Swenson won five times, and Susan Butcher was the only female to win four times.
