pretty simple really... the plastic triangle will pop off with a little effort.. then there are 3 short screws that hold the mirror in place. after that you will have to carefully negotiate the adjustment lever out through the hole. replacement is just the opposite. I have found that if the three (long) plastic screwholes have broken off, you can retap what is left and resecure the same mirror assembly using 10-32 screws that are 1-1.25" long. I just did this with my mirror that had broken off 2 weeks ago.
