Well, actually, there are many breeds that are used to pull dogsleds, and several more that are capable of it. Most that are actually used are of the Spitz type. Siberian Huskies, Alaskan Malamutes, and Sammoyeds are some traditional examples. The Alaskan Husky is recently created breed of sled dog that has shown extreme aptitude. Reportedly a cross between SH and greyhounds, these are smaller dogs with greater endurance capability. Many Molosser breeds are capable of drafting, but few are as adept as the aforementioned spitz breeds.
