Its stomp pad has worked for me for 2 years, and it still has a lot of grip. You can't go wrong with a Burton stomp pad. However, there is a new stomp pad that is especially good for beginners called "Strap Pad," that is the only stomp pad that has a velcro strap that eases your ride on and off the chair lift.
