Plus/minus means the difference between the number of goals his team scores and the number it gives up at even strength when a player is on the ice. Power play and short-handed goals do not count. For example, should Alex Ovechkin be on the ice while his team scores 4 even strength goals and be on while they give up 2 even strength goals, he would be a +2.
