Every winter, eight kilometers of the Rideau Canal in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada are cleared and it is billed as the world's largest skating rink but some winters in Holland, if it gets cold enough to freeze, they have an ice skating race over about 124 miles of canals and waterways so I'm not sure which would technically qualify as the longest. If you wanted to skate the entire Rideau Canal system, it might be that long but I'm not sure if you could do it without having to climb over some locks.
The largest skating rink is located in Japan (currently). It is called the Fujikyu Ice Arena (I'm pretty sure about this).

The Colosseum in Calumet Michigan is the worlds oldest indoor ice arena. Built and opened in 1913 and has been continuously operated as an ice rink and still is to this day.
The winter solstice is the shortest day and longest night of the year, marking the official beginning of winter in the Northern Hemisphere. It occurs around December 21st each year and is one of the four major astronomical events that mark the Earth's changing seasons. People around the world celebrate the winter solstice with various cultural and religious rituals.

The perceived longest night varies by longitude, latitude, altitude relative to the horizon, and other factors such as temperature, pressure and relative humidity which affect the perceived rather than the idealized sunset and sunrise times. Therefore, the "longest night" may fall before or after the winter solstice, depending on location. Or, the longest night may instead be a pair of longest nights on both sides of a solstice if no difference in the length of the nights can be measured. Politically speaking, the night following the winter solstice is traditionally always celebrated as the longest night, since each location's longest night could technically be different than the next location around the world or even within the same nation.
