YES! Those great Fins are brothers! Jarkko is 8 years older than than Tuomo. Tuomo played with the Chicago Blackhawks before moving here to our Carolina team. Jarkko has played one professional game against his brother (while Jarkko was with Vancouver I believe), and he informed his teammates not to under estimate his younger brother. Jarkko said he hits hard and I will be keeping my head up. Jarkko has said that he talks with his Tuomo (almost) daily. They have a 3rd brother, Mikko who is very talented as well. Mikko played briefly for the Senators and unfortunately had to retire early due to a broken knee. Last I knew, he is still a scout for the Ottawa Senators. I wish we could clone those guys. They are extremely tough and smart. They know how to play, agitate (cleverly), hit and fight and this comes no where near encompassing their other abilities as players and as individuals. All 3 obviously hail from Vantaa, Finland. So, Jarkko is the eldest (around 33 or so if I can remember), Mikko is next and is about 30, and last but certainly not least, Tuomo is 25 and our up and coming star here in Raleigh. We are so happy to finally have one of the Ruutu brothers here! These are very respectful brothers who are doing their job and doing it well, but don't forget, they are very considerate when it comes to giving interviews and chariable work. Welcome to Raleigh Tuomo! From a loyal Canes fan who see's these players and/or their families around town all the time. Lets go Canes!
