In the skills contest, the track is approx. 550 ft long, calculating out to be around 45 km/h. For point of reference, Derek Parra's world record at the 2002 Winter Olympics in the 1500 m was 104 seconds. This calculates to roughly 52 km/h. Erik Heiden's olympic winning speed was 13.3 m/s or about 48 km/h.

It depends how hard you hit it and if the ice is smooth or wet. However, the hardest shooters in the NHL can shoot the puck at well over 100 MPH.
