if u want to know how to ice skate go to a local ice rink and pay for group lessons and when u are very good like me u can get private lessons. WRONG. you have lessons if you want to learn jumps, technique, spins etc............
before even considering lessons go to your nearest rink and just start to get a feel for the ice. Go round slowly and you eventually will be able to skate. i would recommend you go with someone who is confident on the ice so they can help you round.
EDIT BY BURNOUT10 = the first time i went i was great all you need to know is how to start off..... Lean on your weak foot and push out on your good foot in a "v-shape", then continue on the next foot.
-----Also, don't forget to get good skates and not use the rentals ones. Their really bad!
Ilikekittens(me) says-that was a pretty generic question I could answer somthing more specific like a certain jump or spin. if you want to learn to skate: get lessons.

First you need a decent pair of skates. You lace them(they have to be tight)and take off your blade guards. You very carefully step onto the ice.Do not slam your foot down. You should start off by marching, if you have never skated before. However, if you have you can stroke. When you march, do not bring your knees up really high, as if you were in a parade, but instead keep them close to the ice.Pick up one foot then the other.Moving around this way will take a long time. Also keep your arms out for balance. If you want, at first you can hold on to the boards if that helps you. Good luck!
